Goin Goin to Cali Cali

Driving from LA to San Diego to visit family.

Had a great time in LA and discovered a great little cafe on Tujunga for all you LA locals. It's called AROMA CAFE in Studio City (introduced to me by my tv sis Shantel). YUM!! Veggie Wrap was killer.

Also, if you haven't had the Spanish Latte at Urth Cafe you are doing yourself a huge disservice.

THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON THIS TRIP SO FAR:
- Managed to get in 2miles every morning since Tuesday for the #TreadOnTrafficking.
- Took Maria for her first swim in a pool!
- Bought the new Sugarland cd.
- Watched my stud husband do P90X every morning
- Reconnected with an estranged friend after 8 years... Amazing.
- Changed approximately 30 diapers since Tuesday
- Did my makeup frantically in the car on my way to meetings every day
- Saw Daniel Kim (Jin on LOST) walking in Beverly Hills.
- Discovered Huggies diapers are not as good as Seventh Generation diapers.
- Enjoyed music partner, Ron's, famous Peanut Butter BBQ chicken. And, no, you cant have the recipe.
- Ron's French Bulldog almost ate a dirty diaper.
- ...did I mention my life revolves around diapers?
- Saw giant elephant statue on the highway...WTF.

Stuck in traffic now, but enjoying the gorgeous Cali weather! Write more soon! Xoxo

  6. You were HERE??!?!?! Ahhh! I'm not gonna admit that I have always wished you would visit LA and I would randomly bump into you. Admitting that would be weird and creepy ...

  7. Ahh Aroma Cafe, I love that place, I recently moved from LA back to my home town Chattanooga,TN and reading this just made me a little LA homesick. Sounds like a lovely trip and my life now also revolves around diapers too, shes 15 months so only like 6 changes a day vs 12 :) Wouldn't change it for anything though, enjoy your sweet girl.

  12. You'd better concentrate on your role in OTH, you're décevente yet I love your musical talent!

Joy caught up now because you disappoint many fans Naley! you should never mix business and personal life!
PS: I understand why James Lafferty wants to sign a contract to put time if season 9, you left and Naley Naley fans are sad to see it on screen!

Episode 8.22 is hoped that Naley will give us a great final season 8!

    you should know that!

  13. Ha! My life is revolving around diapers, too. Amazing how many conversations with my husband revolve around that topic. I've been meaning to give seventh generation a try, but the closest store that sells them is a 45 minute drive from my house, and I can never remember to pick up a pack. So far, Luvs have been my diaper of choice.

Okay. I'm going to stop talking about diapers now. I hope the rest of your trip is fantastic!

  14. Bekka... We order them online at Diapers.com... Way easier then getting to the store with a babe.

  15. Hey Joy,

Thank you so much for sharing this blog about your family holiday. It looks like you are having an amazing. Althought you and michael are changing plenty of dipers, you still sound to be having great family time with Maria,
How did Maria enjoy her first swim?...sure she really enjoyed herself. Also I was wondering what the name of the new sugarland CD is?..dont think it released in the UK yet.

Really hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday seeing your family.

  17. Hey there...
I'm happy that you finally go back in LA after a long time, and visiting your family and doing some business at the same time. Nice! You mentioned Ron, you seeing each other get in touch and to talk about the "The Notebook, The New Musical too?" Yay!

about diapers...I hate changing diapers but I got 5 nephews and they're too silly to make a poo while we're all alone and I don't have a choice to clean them up. Funny moment being an aunt Lol!

Anyway, again thank you so much for posting. You entertained me again and now I've learned something new about LA and DIAPERS!!! Yeah please post more soon. Take care for always and God bless...

  21. Hy Joy my name is Ginevra,
I write u here because I don’t know how I can contact you.. on twitter is so difficult, so I try to send u a email on Everly and I try o post a comment on your blog.
For me the music is very important. When I listen the music I feel free, when I'm happy or sad in a song I find someone who understands me. I have to say that in your songs I find this “ someone”;for me is really important. I don’t have a happy life, I don’t know why, maybe because I don’t find my way but.. when I’m alone I shrink in music and in the films, this are two things that are very important into my life. In you I find a wonderful singer and actress.. [yes because I love one tree hill is.. wonderful!]
I think that the target for a singer is conveying feelings and you do this. You make me dream with your songs.. Thanks for this.
    With Love Gin

  26. It sounds like you are having an amazing time!! That's so cool that you saw Daniel Kim. I'm a huge fan of Lost and Hawaii Five-O.

Haha, seems like diapers do take up a majority of your time. You must keep an eye on the dogs. We had a little dog that would steal diapers out of the trash and store them under the bed. It was gross!!

  32. Road trips are the best! I've done quite a few in the states. I haven't yet done one in Canada (where I'm from), but I really want to get an old VW, renovate the inside drive across the country and into the states. One day...) For now, I'm traveling across Morocco, not by car though. By sweaty trains mostly, but it's beautiful.

Enjoy your trip! Have fun with your family and do or try something you never have before.

    Happy Travels!

Please, please do not ignore your fans, like myself, who admire her so much, and if possible, when we have a little time to respond on his twitter, and watch our video campaign for a new season of One Tree Hill! It has taken me years to get the confidence to discuss something so personal, but I feel it is the thing I should do... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also here is a link to my blog if you would like to check it out...

  47. Yup- Seventh Generation diapers are definitely the best. I'm on baby #3, and I have used EVERY brand from the store generics to the Nature Babycare, and everything in between over the past 8 years. Seventh Gen are the best- hands down. Have you tried Earth's Best wipes? They are the best wipes- large and clean up messes of all sizes:-) Happy Mommying:-)
